Answer
The NZDPU is being developed on the recommendations of the CDSC and is designed to be integrated with the UNFCCC Non-State Actor Zone for Climate Action (NAZCA). The NZDPU works closely with the UNFCCC with a view toward future integration - for example, aligning with UN jurisdictions and accessibility requirements. Incorporating the NZDPU into NAZCA will support increased integration of private sector commitments and progress within the UNFCCC stocktaking and recognition processes. The UNFCCC Executive Secretary is a CDSC Member and the UNFCCC chairs the CDSC’s Climate Data Expert Advisory Panel.
